Not long after losing her husband, a good friend talked her into taking a “tole” painting class to help take her mind off her sorrows. It worked, and she fell in love with painting! It wasn’t long before Jamie was painting anything that stood still…
Jamie’s love of painting soon led to teaching and from teaching to publishing her original designs as decorative art instruction books and pattern packets, which you can find at www.betweenthevines.com or at your favorite art store.
To date, Jamie has published 14+ books; numerous pattern packets and she is a regular contributor to painting magazines, nationally and internationally. Jamie is now working on the release of her first three books onto CD’s, and to releasing DVD’s of her painting techniques.
Being widowed at a young age was a trial and Jamie couldn’t have made it without the love, support and guidance of the good Lord, her family and friends. She is blessed with 2 incredibly, wonderful, delightful sons: Ryan and Tyler, they’ve made being a single mom a joy!
Jamie believes it was learning to paint that helped her conquer her grief and channel it into something positive. Her cares and concerns melted away when she picked up the brush and she was able to forget her woes for a while.
