About the Artist

Tuula Burger is a self-taught artist who spent her early years growing’ up amidst noise and chaos within a large Scandinavian family. Her family consisted of ten siblings, four brothers and six sisters. These early years have definitely had a lasting effect on what she loves to paint. Her vivid memories of her childhood experiences, of fond family gatherings, seasonal change, pleasure and work activities are the strands that make up the colorful collections of memories of her childhood. She gently reminds us of the beauty and love within the family, the delightfulness of a moment, and importance of life. These are her real life, 
real experiences. At an early age her desire to capture these feelings 
was introduced by the paints and brushes found in her fathers basement 
painting room. Interest and determination was kindled, followed by many years of painting and mastering her technique of the unique 
style that is hers today. Her work is distinguished by the way she 
captures mood in her story telling paintings.

Tuula’s nostalgic paintings are filled with emotion; they speak to 
your heart and stir your inner feelings. These paintings have
